Note: one of the threads linked to in the open letter immediately highlights joepie91 (Sven Slootweg), who was an active, mixed-media participant in the smear campaigns that surfaced during the freenode transition: https://discourse.nixos.org/t/objection-to-minority-representation-by-a-single-class-in-nixos-sponsorship-policy/42968/6
Note: Joepie91 is Sven Slootweg and a former minor member of LulzSec: https://web.archive.org/web/20110629045415/http://sanfrancisco.ibtimes.com/articles/169577/20110625/lulzsec-sails-into-sunset-as-teamp0ison-terrorizes-internet-antisec-anti-security-anonymous-hacker.htm
Note: Joepie91’s bio on his website boasts about being a “social engineer” who manipulates for fun and profit with no regard for legality: https://web.archive.org/web/20240227032021/http://cryto.net/~joepie91/manual.html
Note: This campaign uses an identical model and technology footprint for leadership destabilization as the RMS open letter
Note: In this, Kate misrepresents Jon Ringer’s discourse thread in an effort to stigmatize the issue, defaming Mr. Ringer in the process of defaming Eelco Dolstra in a larger effort to shift the power structure of the Nix organization towards her political alignment.
Note: Interestingly enough, her example in the open letter of someone not being banned, was of Jon Ringer, who was in fact banned by her peers over just that thread she referenced, so, this appears to be a deceitful representation: https://discourse.nixos.org/t/why-was-jon-ringer-banned-from-github/44114/23
Note: Letter doesn’t seem to be anything but a collection of ideological dog whistles masked as accusations, without any actual accusations.
Note: Falsely claims that DetSys committing to flakes being stable in version of CppNix that they distribute is an implicit threat of fork if the CppNix team breaks flakes, or objects to DetSys merging whatever is necessary to keep flakes stable. The manner in which this false claim is made is so crafted as to betray intent.
