- nadim is invovled in the cryptocat project which ended in 2019
- in 2013 he hosted an open letter with international attention urging for transparency reports on monitoring and surveillance by microsoft through skype 
- could clearly and easily be construed as a political enemy of microsoft
- in 2013, this project, cryptocat, was notable in that it allowed a journalist, glenn greenwald to meet with Edward Snowden after other encryption software failed to work
